Color Washing is one of the simplest faux finishes.   difficulty Level 1

Color washing is a very simple finish to do.  The "color washing" of a wall, creates a very soft or light cast of color.  This can be used in a monochromatic or multiple of subtle colors.  However, I would suggest you use only one top glaze color.  Be sure to practice first!
Use a low sheen or a eggshell paint for your base coat, be sure to take in consideration this color is going to come thru the top glaze, make it subtle!
Once the base coat of paint has dried, the top glaze coat wash will go fast.
Using a rag, sponge, wide brush or my favorite, a "paint mitt".
You will then choose a pattern technique.
