Color Washing is one of the simplest
faux finishes. difficulty Level 1 |
|

|
|
Color washing is a very simple
finish to do. The "color washing" of a wall, creates a
very soft or light cast of color. This can be used in a monochromatic
or multiple of subtle colors. However, I would suggest you use
only one top glaze color. Be sure to practice first! |
|
Use a low sheen or a eggshell paint for your
base coat, be sure to take in consideration this color is going to come
thru the top glaze, make it subtle! |
|
|
Once the base coat of paint has dried, the top
glaze coat wash will go fast.
Using a rag, sponge, wide brush or my favorite, a "paint
mitt".
You will then choose a pattern technique. |
